text=COFFEE NAMES: Barbie Cappuccino has been on sabbatical since recieving a scholorship from UCLA to study Name Dropping and its effects on young female concert goers. He's tested subjects while performing with Paul McCartney, Eric Clapton, Sheryl Crow, Elton John, Billy Joel, Neil Young, and many others. Barbie recently joined Suede and Skip for gig at THE FIRKIN in Libertyville this past week, while in town for a show at The House Of Blues with Brian Wilson. DON'T GO BACK TO NASHVILLE: Nash Vegas, world renowned pianist and cheese straightner, has been showing up at gigs with Suede and Skip as well as the turnstyles. He also perticipated in the reunion of the old Chicago Band THE CLINIC in August 2002 at Pops Highwood. When asked why he keeps coming to gigs uninvited, Nash responed by saying, "I know you are, but what am I?" When asked why he seldom makes sense, he said, "I knew Dan Quale, I worked with Dan Quale and you are no Dan Quale." BLUE'S CLUES: After wittnessing the mob-style execution of underworld crime boss Tony "The most likely guy to get wacked" Bulletinni, Blue was forced to change his name, move to another state and enter the Wittness Protection Program. You can send fan mail to John Doe Smith, 321 Overandover St., Hidington, Maryland 01812. Or call him, (321) 555-6487, or you can visit him at that place he likes to hang out at, um, I think it's called Spark's Steakhouse or something, you know, right next to that adult book store on 46th street. SO LONG, FAREWELL, AUF WIEDERSEHEN, GOOD NIGHT: Long-time turnstyles guitarist BlueRoy has left the group, citing irreconcilable creative differences. He was last spotted by an unwitting turnstyles fan on the corner of Bryn Mawr and Lakewood in the Andersonville neighborhood of Chicago. The fan was buying a mango ice cream bar from one of the city's summer army of helados cart-vendors, when she realized that the dark-skinned man taking her money was none other than Blue himself. Caught red-handed (and red-faced) Blue ran off down the street, but not before the knowing fan recognized the tune of his ice cream bell as uncannily reminiscent of "Close to Satisfied." GOOD VIBRATIONS: Bassist Skip Latte has stepped in to fill the shoes of Barbie Cappuccino, who has been on tour with Brian Wilson. When asked about the slight similarities in their last names, Skip said, "What, you think I got the job because we're both Italian?" I'M AN EXCELLENT DRIVER: A turnstyles gig sponsored by WIIL 95.1 in Salem, WI was canceled when guitarist BlueRoy rear-ended a UPS truck on the way to the show. Witnesses report that the string-slinger was too busy looking at his rear view mirror, primping his pompadour for the umpteenth time. Though there were no injuries, the arriving officer was quoted as saying, "Man, that guy had nice hair." TURNSTYLES UNPLUGGED: the turnstyles have been performing every third Thursday of the month at Pop's in Highwood, 214 Green Bay Road. Fans have been clamoring to see the lineup in a more stripped-down setting, although their third set of the night at this fine acoustic/jazz nightclub usually kicks out the jams. It's turning out to be one of the more popular nights at Pop's - much more so than the original "the turnstyles: unzipped" show. PLATINUM SUEDE: Certainly many of you have noticed Suede sporting a shiny new platinum 'do as of late. Ladies behave! The rumor mill has it this blond bombshell did it just to cover up the fact that he's really 73 years old, but we know the truth - he's really 68! SHOW ME THE EDDIE MONEY: Sadly, the turnstyles' set opening for Eddie Money at Joe's on Weed St. was canceled at the last minute due to sound equipment problems. The band graciously gave up their stage time to allow the crew to set up and test a rented system. "Those guys were really, really great about it," said Mr. Money. "They're welcome to not open for me anytime. Anytime at all." WIIL REQUEST LINE: WIIL 95.1 has played "Lonely Boy", "Earth to the Sun" and "Close to Satisfied" from Live In The Studio.
